Let's Connect

Leadership is not built alone. It is built in conversation, in community, and in the connections we choose to make.

Whether you have a question about something I have written, want to share your own leadership story, or are exploring what we could build together, I want to hear from you.

This is not a form that goes into a void. I read every message personally.

What I Am Available For

Keynote Speaking

I speak at conferences, summits, student events, and community gatherings on African leadership, youth empowerment, governance accountability, and servant leadership. My talks are not motivational fluff; they are honest, evidence-based, and designed to leave audiences with something they can act on immediately.

Ideal audiences: University students, youth organisations, civil society groups, professional associations, leadership conferences across Africa and the diaspora.

Leadership Workshops and Training

I design and facilitate workshops for student unions, youth organisations, and community groups on practical leadership skills, communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, building unity, and leading with integrity.

Workshop formats: Half-day, full-day, or multi-session programmes. In-person across Uganda and virtually for diaspora communities.

Coaching and Mentorship

I work one-on-one with young leaders who are stepping into new roles, navigating difficult leadership situations, or building their personal leadership identity. This is not advice from a distance;  it is real, practical coaching from someone who has led in the same environments you are leading in.

Who this is for: Student union leaders, youth organisation presidents, young professionals stepping into leadership for the first time.

Panel Discussions and Interviews

I am available to participate in panel discussions, podcast interviews, and media conversations on African governance, youth leadership, South Sudanese diaspora issues, and education reform in Africa.

Speaking Inquiries

When reaching out about a speaking engagement or workshop, please include the following so I can respond with the most relevant information:

  • Event name and type: conference, workshop, panel, community gathering
  • Audience: who will be in the room and approximate size
  • Preferred topics or themes: what you want your audience to walk away with
  • Date and location, or virtual platform if online
  • Budget range: I work with organisations of all sizes and am flexible for youth and community events

Media and Press

If you are a journalist, podcaster, blogger, or content creator seeking perspectives on African leadership, youth empowerment, the South Sudanese diaspora experience, or governance accountability, I am happy to contribute.

Please share:

  • Your publication or platform name
  • The specific topic or angle you are exploring
  • Your deadline or preferred timeline

Collaboration

If you lead a youth organisation, student union, community initiative, or content platform and see potential for us to work together,  whether through joint events, content partnerships, or shared initiatives,  reach out with your idea. I am open to conversations that serve young Africans well.

A Note on What VOLA Stands For

Voice of Leadership Africa (VOLA) exists because Africa's leadership conversation needs more honest voices that speak from experience, not theory. Voices that name what is broken without giving up on what is possible. Voices that come from the communities most affected by leadership failure, not from comfortable distances.

Every message I receive from a young African who is trying to lead better, think more clearly, or serve their community with more integrity reminds me why this work matters.

If that is, you reach out. You are exactly who this is for.

Silas Tonny is a South Sudanese writer and youth leader based in Uganda. Co-Founder of Radiant Empowerment Hub and President of the Bari Students' Union in Uganda. Founder of Voice of Leadership Africa (VOLA).
